UpArte’s fourth work is the Murcian company’s most ambitious. Inspired by the myth of Sisyphus and Albert Camus’s reinterpretation of it, bodies in flight and in balance explore the futility of human efforts through the dramaturgy of the image.
With a cast of 14 top-level acrobats, the work reflects the inevitable clash with the walls we encounter, both physical and symbolic. A metaphor of the meaning —or lack of meaning— of existence, with the visual poetry of contemporary circus and complex and risky technique as the main languages.
